'Our Lady Star of the Sea' Relief to be placed in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception
Father Sinclair Oubre, Diocesan Director for the Apostleship of the Sea and Joe Cox, President and CEO of the Chamber of Shipping of America who have been working together to have an image of Our Lady Star of the Sea, the patroness for the people of the sea, to be placed in the breathtaking Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C. They have raised the funds, and at the present time, craftsmen in Italy are carving the relief. The plan is that it will be unveiled at the Shrine during the Sunday Mass on May 24, 2015, as part of the National Maritime Day Observance by the United States Conference of Bishops.
