The Ship Operations Cooperative Program (SOCP) invites your attendance to its first meeting of the 2002 Program Year on February 12, 2002 in Seattle, WA.

The meeting will be hosted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) at NOAA's Western Regional Center Conference facilities and will highlight Maritime Security, Ferry industry and Ballast Water Management issues.

Other panel presentations will include SOCP's Maritime Smart Card and a presentation on the SOCP's just-released Vessel Familiarization CD-ROM - produced as a result of STCW 95's requirement that newly employed mariners be provided opportunity to become familiar with a ship.

Additional information regarding the SOCP and the meeting on
February 12, 2002 is available on the SOCP web site at http://www.socp.org. To confirm your attendance, contact Mrs. Kim Rester, by voice at 202-366-0364, by fax at 202-366-9580, or by E-mail at kim.rester@marad.dot.gov.
