Clay Responds to U.S, Coast Guard Study Citing Increasing Inspection Deficiencies on U.S. Flag Ships with a Call for QUALSHIP 21 Compliance
In this 176th edition in the series, Clay responds to a U.S. Coast Guard study that found increasing inspection deficiencies per vessel on U.S. flag ships, a fleet where the average age of a ship is 27.8 years old. Clay suggests U.S. flag ships should be subject to the standards of the USCG’s QUALSHIP 21 initiative and that this would encourage a widespread fleet replacement of some of these older ships.
