In this 73rd edition in the series, with the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) expected to decide on the timing of the global 0.5% sulfur cap for marine fuels in October of this year, the result of recent study that verifies the availability of low sulfur fuel may mean a 2020 or earlier introduction, vs. 2025. Clay assesses the implications for this earlier introduction of the .5% sulfur cap for marine fuels.
